Cake mixes are no longer a novelty, so we can easily find almost any flavour at the supermarket. The situation changes when we look at the selection of sugar free healthy mixes, which is almost non-existent.
I can honestly say that I am not the kind of person who lacks imagination, but creating healthy desserts is not a very easy task. Many times I eded up getting cakes that are too soft or too dense, and in some cases they were simply too strange. The fact is that recipe development is a complex process and the results can’t always be anticipated.
There are days when I don’t fell adventurous, because failure means loss of time and money. I know I am not alone in this, therefore I think that healthy cake mixes are a excellent solution. Also, there are people who rarely bake and they are not willing to buy 10 different ingredients for one cake, and I understand them perfectly.
I began to test the Myprotein mixes and I can tell you that so far I like them all. I tried the brownie mix, the cookie mix and now I have decided to try also their flapjack mix.
If you’re looking for a quick and easy recipe then you must try this version, but you should know that the resulted flapjack will be more like a soft cookie. If you’re looking for chewy and moist flapjack bar, then I don’t think that you will be very delighted.
I personally liked these bars very much because they are flavourful, filling and they don’t requite a lot of ingredients. Also, I can make them anytime if I have a sweet tooth, even on very busy days.
